Principal's Message
2023-24
Welcome to Wilson Middle School! The community surrounding the school is densely populated with older, single-family houses, apartments, and small businesses. Our school features award-winning teachers and resource centers equipped with current curricular materials. Our mission is to provide a positive, integrated, and student-centered program to ease the transition from elementary to high school. We focus on academic achievement, social skills, socio-emotional wellbeing and supporting students in making positive choices . The staff encourages students to become literate, thinking individuals with strong self-esteem and multicultural sensitivity. We also offer a seven-period schedule so all of our students have an opportunity to have at least one elective such as art, band, technology, AVID, choir, ocean science or environmental science.
We Value Our Parents and Families
Parents and families have many opportunities to be involved at Wilson. We offer monthly Coffee with the Principal, volunteer opportunities, serving on the School Site Council, Site Governance Team, English Learner Advisory Committee, our HERO’s club for dad’s and father figures as well as other trainings and events throughout the year. We also encourage parents to support their children at home by making their expectations about school clear and creating a positive homework and learning environment. Parent involvement and communication are very important at Wilson!
I am blessed to be here serving as principal. This is a beautiful school with amazing students and educators. I believe relationships matter and strive to establish positive relationships where students, staff and parents feel heard, seen, valued and most importantly, loved.
