Who are the Chavistas?

The Chavistas, as the Club participants proudly call themselves, range from third grade through college age. Chavistas learn how to accomplish their goals by embodying the values Cesar Chavez taught, like nonviolence, sacrifice and service. They form habits that will serve them a lifetime, like determination and innovation. As they will tell you, "Si Se Puede! Yes We Can!"

Chavista's are Leaders!

Since 2001, the Cesar Chavez Service Clubs have been an exciting and innovative leadership development club active in many local schools. The Clubs are built on the ten values of Cesar Chavez and are designed to engage Club members in community service activities. By organizing student service clubs, teaching the ten values the Cesar Chavez embodied and carrying out community service projects, the Clubs inspire students to believe in themselves. These students learn through their experiences that they can make a lasting difference.

The foundation of the Chavez Service Clubs are the ten values that shape and mold the Chavistas and the Clubs. These values include Nonviolence, Respect, Service, Determination, Helping the Most Needy, Innovation, Celebrating Culture, Tolerance, Sacrifice, and Knowledge.

The Club Coordinator at Wilson is Natalie Legerrette, the School Advisor is Mary Jane Zappia. Our club meets every Thursday from 1:30 until 2:45 pm in room 10.
